The themes of river and water evolved as the central subjects for this new public sculpture for Camlough. Water played a crucial role in the development and continues to dominate the environment of Camlough. The significance of the element water is marked through a sculptural element which expresses the dynamic energy and complexity of the natural cycle of water - the hydrologic cycle from cloud to lough and from river to mill pond and eventual evaporation. The starting point for this concept was taken from a children’s drawing made during one of the initial engagement workshops that followed the natural water cycle.
